Dr. Norton was born in Pueblo, Colorado and raised on a farm by his parents, Jake and Sheila Norton in Fowler, Colorado. He graduated from Fowler High School in 1985. Following high school, he attended the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, Colorado. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He received his doctor of chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 1991. While in his last semester at chiropractic college, he met a "D.O." (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) This type of medicine was described to him as a "traditional medical doctor that has additional training in manipulation...such chiropractic." This profession seemed too good to pass; therefore Dr. Norton immediately pursued his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated with honors/Manga Cum Laude in 1995. He then completed a 3 year postgraduate training residency under the direction of Dr. Charles Raye at the Southern Colorado Family Medicine Residency in Pueblo, Colorado. After nearly 14 years of college and postgraduate training, he then completed his board certification in family medicine and began active practice in family medicine in 1998.
When not practicing medicine, he enjoys many sporting activities in the great outdoors of Colorado and spending time with his children.
